Longtime Hollywood leading man Jeff Bridges joined the A-list crowd at the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles after being nominated for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Drama Series for his role in the FX series The Old Man.
Making his grand arrival with the love of his life, wife Susan Geston by his side, Bridges looked handsome in a black three-piece suit that he paired with a white dress shirt and black bowtie.
He walked along the red carpet, as photographers snapped away, in black shoes, and his salt-and-pepper hair slicked back off his face and a full beard and mustache combination.
Longtime loves: Jeff Bridges, 73, and wife Susan Geston, 69, were all loved up when they attended the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Sunday
The son of legendary late actor Lloyd Bridges had one of his arm lovingly around his wife's shoulders or back much of their time on the red carpet.
Geston, who turns 70 in 2023, showed off her style in what appeared to be a black jumpsuit, or ensemble, with subtle gray stripes that went up and down the outfit.
She also added a gold and black-patterned, blazer-like jacket without lapels, along with a pair of golden floral, open-toe flats, and her blonde locks styled long down her back, with the exception of her hair in the front that was pulled back off her face.
The couple, who will be celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary in June, are the proud parents to three daughters: Isabelle, 41, Jessica and Haley, 37.
Created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, The Old Man is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Thomas Perry.
During the shoot for series, production started and stopped twice - once due to the coronavirus pandemic and once to Bridges' health battles, that included contracting COVID-19 and his lymphoma diagnosis and treatments.
Bridges shared with People in May 2022 that the cancer has been in remission since September 2021, which allowed him to help promote season one of The Old Man.
'I was pretty close to dying. The doctors kept telling me, "Jeff, you’ve got to fight. You're not fighting." I was in surrender mode. I was ready to go. I was dancing with my mortality,' the Crazy Heart star told the publication.
Lovebirds: The couple showed off their enduring love while on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony where the leading man was up for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Drama Series for his role in the FX series The Old Man
Scary: The longtime leading man had to deal with two health scares during shoot for The Old Man: COVID-19 and a cancer diagnosis and treatments, which has since gone into remission
Season one of The Old Man, consisting of seven episodes, ended up premiering on FX on June 16, 2022.
Not long after its debut the thriller-drama series was renewed for a second season.
Bridges plays Dan Chase, a former CIA operative who's been living off-the-grid in Vermont for 30 years. After killing an intruder who breaks into his home, Chase goes into hiding, and proceeds to rent a room from Zoe McDonald, played by Amy Brenneman, who becomes his forced partner while on the run.
Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper, portrayed by John Lithgow, ends up being called in to apprehend Chase because of their complicated past during the Soviet–Afghan War.
Along with Bridges, Brenneman and Lithgow, the cast also include E. J. Bonilla, Bill Heck, Leem Lubany, Alia Shawkat and Gbenga Akinnagbe. among others with recurring roles.
Drama-thriller: Bridges plays Dan Chase, a former CIA operative who's been living off-the-grid in Vermont for 30 years, who then finds himself on the run in The Old Man, which has been renewed for a second season
Previously, Bridges won one a SAG Award for Outstanding Leading Actor In A Motion Picture for his role as a weathered country music star in the acclaimed drama film Crazy Heart (2009), out of his four previous noms.
The SAG's, honoring the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2022, will stream live and exclusively on Netflix's YouTube channel at 8:00 p.m. / 5:00 p.m., making it the first awards show to be broadcast entirely online, according to Town & Country.
Of all the major industry awards shows dedicated to actors, only the SAG Awards are selected entirely by performers’ peers in SAG-AFTRA, with more than 122,000 eligible voters.
