The Screen Actors Guild is holding its annual awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, where “Everything Everywhere All at Once” could continue its momentum and win in several film categories, including Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (Ke Huy Quan) and Outstanding Performance by a Cast.
The multiverse-hopping indie directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert enters the evening with the wind at its back, having taken home the top prize on Saturday at the Producers Guild Awards, indicating that the zany film is not polarizing voters as much as some feared. Its five SAG nominations tie it with “The Banshees of Inisherin” for the top spot among movie contenders.
On the television side were a few surprises right out of the gate: Jessica Chastain won Female Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series for “George & Tammy” (she won the movie category last year for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”) and Sam Elliott scored an impressive first-ever win for his Western drama “1883”. “Abbott Elementary” scored the Ensemble in a Comedy Series award for its maiden season.
The SAG Awards are airing directly on YouTube’s Netflix channel, beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. We will be updating this list throughout the night, so be sure to check back.
