Pamela Anderson confessed she "tried to kill" her abusive babysitter with a "candy cane pen" after she was "molested" at just eight-years-old – before she was killed in a fatal car crash.

The Playboy model and Baywatch star, now 55, makes the extraordinary revelations in her new documentary, detailing her traumatic childhood and chaotic rise to fame.

She speaks at length and also gives access to her home videos and personal diaries as she opens up about her life, revealing she was raped at the age of eight.

It was a stand-out moment in the programme that Pamela detailed "three or four years of hell" from her childhood babysitter – who her parents reportedly thought was "great".

Pamela says she escaped her ordeal after the babysitter died in a horror car accident, something a young Pamela thought she had caused after wishing her dead.

"I had a babysitter and my parents thought she was a great babysitter because she brought presents all the time. But she was molesting me," she explained.

"It was like three or four years of abuse. She always told me not to tell my parents. I tried to protect my brother from her."

Detailing her 'murder plot', she said: "I tried to kill her and tried to stab in the heart with a candy cane pen and then I told her I wanted her to die and then she died in a car accident the next day.

"So I thought I killed her with my magical mind and I couldn't tell anybody. And I was sure that I did it, that I wished her dead and she died."

It was her babysitter's death following years of abuse that Pamela tagged amongst "those traumatic moments" she had to endure during childhood.

She added: "I lived with that my whole really young life.

"When those traumatic moments happen, I would just leave my body and float away and I'd make my own little world. I just thought I had to get off the island."

Her life changed almost overnight when she was spotted at a BC Lions Canadian Football League game wearing a Labatt's Beer T-shirt in 1989.

The company hired her and she became a model, being invited to the Playboy mansion and moving to Los Angeles.
