Manchester United face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup on a backdrop of the club's potential sale, with the Glazer family's stance reportedly scuppering a takeover deal
It's Carabao Cup final day! But the focus isn't just on Wembley...
As Erik ten Hag leads a resurgent from Old Trafford, Manchester United are understood to be in the process of being sold - at least partially - to an investor promising to bring back the glory days for good. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani are the only two men to officially lodge a bid, with the undecided Glazer family mulling over their options.
Meanwhile on the pitch, United head into Sunday's final against a buoyant Newcastle aiming to end their six-year trophy drought. There are doubts surrounding the fitness of star performer Marcus Rashford, but there was good news coming from the platform at Stockport train station.
Here's a round-up of the latest developments from Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford has made the trip to London and is in contention to face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final. The red-hot striker was hauled off late on during Thursday's 2-1 comeback victory over Barcelona in the Europa League and suggested on social media that he'd once again injured his ankle.
Rashford was spotted travelling down the country, though, with Erik ten Hag facing a series of selection headaches. Fellow froward Wout Weghorst didn't impress in midweek, like Jadon Sancho, while Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are each pushing for a start in the Red Devils' biggest game of the season so far after making an impact against Barcelona.

Avram Glazer is preparing to attend Sunday's final at Wembley, while his family's potential sale remains in limbo. Both Avram and Joel Glazer, United's executive co-chairman, are said to be reluctant to fully sell the club that their family has owned since 2005, despite mounting pressure from fans and officials bids from the two interested parties in an acquisition - Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Athletic claim that Avram still feels "emotionally invested" in the Red Devils, in spite of the criticism which his family's ownership has faced. However, his stance contradicts with other members of the Glazer family, who're more keen to cut ties with United.

The takeover bids for Manchester United reportedly aren't high enough to force the Glazers to sell. Last Friday, the club set a soft deadline for potential buyers to confirm their interest, with INEOS chief execute Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim, the chairman of Qatari bank QIB, announcing their intentions to purchase 100 per cent of the club.
United's sale is likely to break the record for a sport clubs, as the Denver Broncos currently hold that record after the NFL franchise was sold for $4.6billion last year. The Financial Times understands that the current offers for the club are below the Glazer family's expectations, putting a spanner in the works of any takeover.
