We have an Atlantic Division matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday evening inside of the Canadian Tire Centre. The Red Wings are fifth in the Atlantic Division (28-22-8, 64 points) and are coming off a 3-0 home loss on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Senators are down at seventh in the Atlantic Division (28-26-4, 60 points) and are coming off a 5-2 road win on Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens. These teams are trying to get the Wild Card spots in the Eastern Conference and definitely have a chance. This is the fourth and final game they played on Monday as well.
WINNING IS EASY WHEN YOU HAVE THE BEST PICKS
We split our best bets on Sunday, losing the NBA as Dallas blew a late lead to lose at home to the Los Angeles Lakers, but we won the NHL when the Islanders and Jets scored just four goals between them to finish under the 5.5 closing line. Two more best bets on Monday will be sure winners so do not miss out, sign on the dotted line today.
The Detroit Red Wings have been decent, but are coming off a 3-0 home loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning last time out. Center Dylan Larkin led the team as he was able to finish with six shots in the game. As a team, they scored zero goals on 45 shots and won 48.1 percent of their face-offs. They were 0-for-4 on power play attempts. Defensively, they did well as they allowed zero goals on a pair of power play opportunities. Ville Husso did well as he allowed two goals on 17 shot attempts throughout the game.
This offense has been struggling this season as they are 22nd in the NHL with 179 goals scored thus far. They have a bunch of players stepping up, including center Dylan Larkin as he has 57 points (22 goals, 35 assists) up to this point of the season and has scored five points in their last five games. Defensively, they are playing decently well as they are 14th in the league with 184 goals conceded as well. They need to figure things out on the offensive side of things if they want to pick up a win here.

This offense has been struggling as they are 24th in the NHL with 177 goals scored thus far. They have a bunch of players stepping up, including left winger Brady Tkachuk as he has 61 points (24 goals, 37 assists) this season and has scored five points in their last five games as well. Defensively, they are average as they are 15th in the league with 185 goals conceded as well. They have a good overall roster that is buying in together so they need to continue playing as a unit and they will contend for one of the Eastern Conference Wild Card spots.

Rating:
Looking at the offenses in the last four games, there is a bit of a difference as Detroit is scoring 2.25 goals per game while Ottawa is averaging 3.25 goals per game in that stretch. Throughout the entire season, there is a massive difference in terms of the power play as the Red Wings are 18th in the sport with a 21-power play percentage while the Senators are fifth in the NHL with a 25-power play percentage up to this point.
The Senators have won five of the previous six games against the Red Wings so go with the Ottawa Senators to cover the spread here.
Prediction: Ottawa Senators -122
Rating:
With both Ville Husso and Mads Sogaard starting in the net, this should be a good defensive game. Having two games in a row against one another also helps as they already see how these offenses will attack. When looking at the defensive numbers lately, it proves this will hit as the Red Wings are allowing 1.7 goals in their last three games while the Senators are giving up 2.75 goals in their previous four games. Both teams are also doing a good job on the penalty kill this year as Ottawa is eighth with an 82.2 kill percentage while Detroit is 18th with a 78.3 kill percentage so far.
The under has hit in seven of their previous 10 games against one another in Ottawa so go with the UNDER to hit in this matchup.
Prediction: Under 6.5
