In a major development, more than 2 million air fryer units were recalled on Thursday after multiple reports popped out regarding the machine catching fire. Reportedly, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall involves Cosori air fryers sold at Best Buy, Target and The Home Depot stores nationwide and online from June 2018 through December 2022. The fryers were also sold in Canada and Mexico. US Consumer Product Safety Commission took to its Twitter handle and wrote, "#Recall: @CosoriCooks 2 Million COSORI® Air Fryers Recalled by Atekcity. A wire connection in the air fryers can overheat. 205 reports air fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating, and smoking. Get replacement." Now, the question arises why the Cosori air fryers were recalled or what is Cosori air fryers recall reason?
Reports suggest that Cosori air fryers recall decision was taken after more than 200 (205 to be precise) reports popped out saying that the machine is catching fire, burning, melting, overheating and smoking. The recall was initiated over a faulty wire connection. Cosori said that “in extremely rare circumstances,” the closed-end crimp connectors, which electrically connect certain wires inside the fryers, can overheat, possibly causing fires and burns. As of now, Cosori has received 205 reports of the fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating and smoking, including 10 reports of minor burns and 23 reports of minor property damage.
